The
key to my most successful wildlife art has undoubtedly
been a knowledge built up from familiarity acquired first
hand while observing animals in the wild. Besides an in-depth
look at the visual characteristics and the behaviour of
a species, I surround myself with their favoured habitat
and experience the lighting and weather conditions. My
art simply rolls together all that I've experienced.
Experiencing
subject matter first hand not only generates my enthusiasm
but drawing and painting from life has really accelerated
my learning. The art

should provide you with some insight into my creative
processes.
Whenever
I get the chance I'm outdoors wildlife watching. I describe
myself as an artist naturalist and the two words cannot
be separated!
