We will gladly provide you with a better quality enlargement, a photo of the current frame or any other information to assist your decision making.

Please feel free to contact us if any questions remain unanswered.

Postage, Packing and Shipping Insurance

POSTAGE

The delivery costs can vary greatly depending on the destination address, the size of the artwork and its weight . We now quote for delivery costs following an enquiry. Recently I've shipped several canvases rolled ready for restretching and framing in the country of the recipient. This was a cost effective approach.

The price of the original artwork does not include postage and packaging. Painting prices are direct selling prices unless stated otherwise.

Orders will normally be processed within 5 working days of your payment clearing. Originals are dispatched by first class mail or courier within Europe or by international airmail as appropriate. This should mean that you will receive your order, subject to any customs delays, within 14 working days. An e-mail will be sent to confirm your payment has been processed and your order dispatched.

N.B. If you select one of my most recent paintings dispatch may be delayed until I've been able to arrange any requested framing. We would like to apologise if at any other time as a consequence of my work commitments the dispatch of your order is delayed.

PACKAGING

Artwork is fragile and packaging is important for protection. Items are shipped flat, in sturdy wooden crates or in extra thick large diameter postal tubes to ensure your order arrives undamaged. For insurance purposes and safe transit originals under glass may have the glazing removed. You will need to obtain replacement glazing from your local framers.

Wildlife Art Shipping Crate Wildlife Paintings Packaging

Inspect any received package thoroughly before accepting / signing for it.
You must make a note of any damage on the delivery record. If you do not couriers will argue that the shipment was delivered in good condition.

SHIPPING INSURANCE

We recommend all items are covered by Shipment Protection Cover for a safe delivery.
First may we suggest you check whether you already have "all risks" cover for your property whilst it is in transit. It may in certain circumstances be provided under your home insurance policy or could be added as a one-off item at a reasonable cost.
Many shipping services offer transit insurance for a percentage of the value insured. Our approach has always been to very thoroughly package. All our international shipments have arrived undamaged, but there are no absolute guarantees. If you decide you would still like to guard the replacement value of your artwork whilst in transit we can purchase cover through the shipping agent. In the past this has cost between 1% and 5% of the value insured. If your artwork is lost or damaged prior to delivery we will assist you with any information you require to complete your claim.
Once your insurance claim is settled there may be options we can assist with. It might be possible for us to arrange repair of minor damage or direct you to the supplier of a new frame. Perhaps you'd like to buy another existing painting or even commission a fresh replacement artwork?

CUSTOMS

All international packages need to be accurately described, with costs, on the customs declaration document.

Customs and import duties are not included. The customer is responsible for the payment of surcharges. Any customs or import duties are levied once the package reaches your country. Additional charges for customs clearance must be borne by you as I have no control over these charges and cannot predict what they might be. Since customs policies vary from country to country you may want to contact your local customs office for further information.

DOCUMENTS

Having successfully received your payment we will send you a confirmatory e-mail detailing your purchases. We issue a Certificate of Ownership to accompany your receipt. This is validated once we have banked your payment. At this point the painting becomes yours and will be forwarded immediately. I will send an e-mail to confirm dispatch and expected arrival times.

RUSH ORDERING

In certain cases, rush orders can be processed. These are by special request.
We can take no responsibility for delays caused during shipping once the goods have left us.

Prices and Availability

VAT is not charged on my original artworks. In view of the limited supply, the availability of items depends on previous sales. I currently cannot process credit cards from Ukraine, Indonesia, Yugoslavia, Lithuania, Egypt, Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey, Russia, Pakistan, Malaysia, Nigeria or Israel.

Prices are subject to change without notice. The prices displayed supersede all others previously quoted.

If an an offer to buy is made I reserve the right at my discretion to decline the offer and not sell the goods. Order acceptance and the completion of the contract between you and us will take place upon the dispatch of the products you've ordered unless we have notified you that we have not accepted your order or you have cancelled it.

Non-acceptance of an order may be a result of one of the following:

  • The product you ordered being unavailable from stock
  • Our inability to obtain authorisation for your payment
  • The identification of a pricing or product description error
  • You not meeting our order criteria

All disputes will be settled under Scottish Law.

Original artwork return procedure - offer of refund

Always inspect any received package thoroughly before accepting / signing for it.

Please don't panic if for whatever reason you are unhappy with an original when you receive it or if it has been damaged in transit, you will get a full refund on returning the goods. In the unlikely event that you are dissatisfied with your purchase we operate a refund policy.

Returning undamaged or unsuitable items

Under distance selling regulations you have seven-day cooling off period after you have received goods in which to notify me that the painting does not match up to your expectations. If not completely satisfied you must inform me in writing - by letter or email - of your decision to return the goods. The artwork must be promptly returned within 30 days of receipt. The original must be packed carefully using the outward packaging and insured for the full purchase value as it may not be possible to offer a refund or replacement for any goods, which are damaged during return transit.

Once I have received the carefully returned item, I guarantee to refund 100% of the artwork's purchase price. Your postage expenses incurred during the returning of the original are non-refundable.

What to do if a parcel is damaged in transit

Inspect any received package thoroughly before accepting / signing for it.

You must make a note of any damage on the delivery record. If you do not the couriers will argue that the shipment was delivered in good condition. In order for them to consider a claim for damage, the contents, original shipping carton and packing must be available for inspection.

If the package appears to have suffered shipping damage:

  • notify me immediately
  • promptly contact the shipping company for a damage inspection report
  • keep the original shipping carton and packaging for the shipping company to inspect

Frames for paintings

Painting prices do not include framing unless stated or illustrated.

I have my paintings framed to the highest standards. I use bespoke framers who when required individually colour or gild my oil painting frames by hand. I can forward photos of how paintings are currently framed or make framing suggestions.

CAN I CHANGE THE FRAME?
Yes, if you would prefer the painting in a different style of frame or unframed just let me know. In most instances this can easily be arranged. (The price would be adjusted to take account of your requirements.)

Still undecided?

I can email a larger and better quality image.

Choosing a painting from a computer image is obviously not ideal as the colours will depend on your own monitor settings. If you have concerns regarding colour I can try matching a paper printout to the original and send it.

If feasible you might like to arrange an appointment to view the original.

By arrangement paintings can be paid for in installments. A non-returnable 25% deposit secures the painting for you for up to 6 months, at the end of which any outstanding balance will need settling.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

My aim is to offer you a secure, trouble-free way of buying quality originals and wildlife prints. This is my livelihood. Success is dependent on the professionalism of my service.

I hope this dispels any concerns you have about ordering.
